Jaydeen Lachapelle and Elder Marie Ballantyne visited Grade 4 Janisch and Grade 6 Pokotylo to share their knowledge about the jingle dress and dance. Students and staff had many questions about the dance and other Indigenous traditions. April Merasty, a student from Mrs. Janisch’s class demonstrated the jingle dance.

Monday, September 30th is Orange Shirt Day, in which we honour and remember the survivors of Residential Schools.
Orange T-Shirts are for sale in the forum at RD Parker at the 11:00 Break and every day at noon 12:15-1:15 until Friday, Sept 27/19.
Strong Beginnings appointments are scheduled for Tuesday, September 17th and Wednesday, September 18th. You should have received a note from your child's teacher regarding your appointment time. If you have not received it, please contact the office in the morning.

Grade six students participated in a full day of soapstone carving under supervision of Irving Head and his son Irving. We were so proud and fortunate to have them share their teachings and talents with our students.
Congratulations to Daylin Monias, who received an Outstanding Aboriginal Student Award Honorable Mention from Ma Mow We Tak Friendship Centre, on May 24, 2019. We are very proud of you Daylin. A big thank you also to Mr. Trunzo for nominating you.
We received a thank you video for our donation for We Walk for Water. Please show your students that our efforts have made a difference. Our money was sent to Kenya.
