Both grade six classes have been working on the electricity unit in science. The classes have had a wonderful time making snap circuits. We have turned light bulbs on, made fans fly and created some very interesting noises with our snap circuits. The Lego Robots were a huge success. The students worked in teams of two or three to build and program the robots. Each team of students were very successful in programming their robots to not only move but talk as well. A hugely successful and exciting time was had by all grade six students during both the snap circuit building as well as the Lego Robot building and programming.
Ms. McCartney’s grade fives went on a field trip in January to the Water Treatment Plant. We learned about our water, how it’s filtered, cleaned and how it’s kept protected. It was such a fun and hands on way to learn. It was the perfect addition to our Water Inquiry unit.
Harlie Pruder presented Northern Job Opportunities to the grade fives. They got hands on experience building working devices. Fun was had by all!
